With a book by Kevin Murphy (Heathers The Musical), Reefer Madness is a highly stylized and satirical political commentary that will leave you wanting more.

Inspired by the infamous 1936 propaganda film, Reefer Madness is a raucous, tongue-in-cheek musical comedy that gleefully lampoons the moral panic surrounding marijuana. When wholesome, clean-cut teens fall victim to “the devil’s weed,” their lives spiral into a hysterical world of evil jazz, debauchery, and absurd mayhem.

Bursting with satirical bite, the show’s infectious score swings from big, brassy Broadway showstoppers to pastiche delights like “Down at the Ol’ Five and Dime” and the gloriously over-the-top “Listen to Jesus, Jimmy,” complete with a heavenly chorus line. Boldly stylised and unapologetically camp, Reefer Madness is a sharp political satire that’s as outrageous as it is irresistible.
